About The Project
ESC Summer Camp Aruba is a European Solidarity Corps volunteering project designed to support summer activities for children and teenagers during the school break.
Volunteers will work alongside local staff in community centres across the island, helping to organize games, sports activities, educational and creative workshops, cultural initiatives, and animation moments.
The project offers a unique opportunity to experience international volunteering in the Caribbean while contributing to the well-being, inclusion, and active participation of young people in the local community.
Methodology
The project will be based on non-formal education, learning by doing, and community-based volunteering.
Volunteers will take part in practical activities such as games, workshops, sports, creative sessions, cultural activities, and group animation. They will collaborate with local staff, work in teams, and learn through direct experience with children, teenagers, and the community.
The methodology will encourage flexibility, responsibility, creativity, intercultural dialogue, and active involvement throughout the volunteering experience.
Objectives of the Project
The project aims to support local summer programmes for children and adolescents while promoting solidarity, intercultural learning, and youth participation.
Its main objectives are to:
support recreational, educational, and sports activities for children and teenagers;
encourage creativity, teamwork, and active participation;
promote intercultural exchange between volunteers and the local community;
strengthen volunteers’ personal, social, and professional skills;
contribute to a positive and inclusive summer experience for local young people.
